Scott Logan is an instructor in the Auto Body Collision Technology program. Scott started teaching at DCTC in 1992 and has served as the program's first-year instructor ever since.
A 1983 graduate of the DCTC Auto Body Collision Technology program, Scott worked part-time in a small shop while attending college. He continued working full-time at the shop for nine years.
Scott is an ASE Master Technician, which means that he is certified by the National Institute of Automobile Service Excellence in all eight automotive testing areas. Earning ASE Master Certification is an exceedingly difficult accomplishment. Master Technicians are the highest paid technicians in the industry and are called on to handle the most sophisticated and complicated repairs.
Scott is also PPG Certified and I-CAR Platinum Certified. An international nonprofit organization, I-CAR is a recognized world leader in technical training for the collision industry.
As for his teaching philosophy, Scott says, "We will give you the basic skills needed to be a success in the collision repair field. Once you've got these skills, it's up to you to practice and master them."
"Working with students who are enthusiastic about learning the skills involved with collision repair is the best part of my job as a DCTC instructor," says Scott. "It's rewarding having graduates come back and tell us they made the right career choice and how successful they are.
Scott's hobbies and interests include ATVing, boating, snowmobiling and restoring vintage snowmobiles.
